Mr. Gareth Hughes is Chief Executive Officer at Niki Shipping Company S.A.. He joined Niki Shipping Company in 2016, bringing more than 20 years of industry leadership and executive management experience to his role with the company.
Prior to that, Mr. Hughes was North Sea Crude and WTI Trader at Sahara Energy based in Geneva. In that capacity he was responsible for the development and implementation of trading strategies.
Before joining Sahara Energy, Mr. Hughes was North Sea Crude Trader at Arcadia Petroleum and spent his time between UK and Switzerland.
His extended career also includes the role of the Head of UK Power Analysis at RWE Trading. In this position he was responsible for the implementation of price and fundamental analysis.
Mr. Hughes has also worked for Reliant Energy as a Risk Analyst and as a Pit Observer at International Petroleum Exchange.
Mr. Hughes began his academic career studying Business Studies and Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Gloucester and got an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance at the Cass Business School of the City University of London.
